Modular Power Supply Solutions From IPD

Modular power supply designs that meet a wide variety of applications are offered by, Integrated Power Design (IPD). Our modular power supply offering includes both AC-DC & DC-DC supplies. Why modular power supply designs? Primarily power supplies are designed with two primary objectives, high efficiency and a small compact size.

The process of modularizing a power supply design is to make it compact so as not to take up excess room allowing it to be easily integrated into an application. For many applications, a modular power supply can be the largest and heaviest part.

At IPD, our objective in developing modular power supply solutions is to improve product efficiency first. A more efficient power supply design leads to a smaller compact power module. In addition, a great deal of our effort goes into making sure that the premium components we select go into topologies that result in low heat dissipation. With lower dissipation less module mass or heavy heat sinks are required. These design elements allow us to provide a compact modular power supply with high power densities and features that are required by most demanding applications.

Our power supply designs are for a global market place, meeting UL, TUV and CE and other certification. Our safety agency approvals reflect this with most of our products having both EN60950 ITE certification and EN60601-1 medical certification.

IPD is the manufacturer of AC-DC & DC-DC Power Supplies. Our products are sold to general industries, including Medical, Automotive, Telecommunications and Test Instruments. Presently, our products are shipped throughout the world with global approvals.

IPD was founded April of 1985. At that time the company was located in Milltown, NJ, where it began manufacturing DC to DC Power Supplies. Then in March of 1986, the company relocated to larger facilities in Lawrenceville, NJ. Over the next 6 years, the product line was expanded and sales increased. The need for a larger production area was essential to the growth of IPD. On March 1, 1992, IPD opened its doors for production at our new Wilkes-Barre, PA, location. By 1996, the Company outgrew its present building and in 1997, added 45,000 sq. ft. to the existing building.
